While making the album A Celtic Odyssey with Roy Durbin, I was also recording an album for a songwriter named Steve Sanders. Steve had a niece named Gretchen. Gretchen has a beautiful voice and, Steve wanted her to sing on his album.
One afternoon Gretchen and I were recording the vocals for one of Steve's songs called Angel's Lullaby (Please listen to a sample here). While we were recording, Roy walked into the studio. When Roy heard Gretchen's voice, he immediately hired her to sing on a Christmas album that he wanted to make after he and I finished A Celtic Odyssey. Thus, Gretchen ended up singing three songs for A Celtic Odyssey and all the songs on Good Morning Christmas with Roy singing excellent harmony.
Interestingly, Steve Sanders wrote the song Good Morning Christmas (please listen to a sample below), and Roy liked it so much we used it as the title song for this album.
