Fr. Thomas Keating is the founder of Contemplative Outreach and Centering Prayer. He passed away in Sept 2018 but left a lasting legacy of knowing God in more profound and more personal ways. You will find his talks humorous, insightful, witty, and very unique to your experience.
Fr. Keating had such clarity about him. He seemed to exude "groundedness of being" in his actions and words. With every sentence or question put to him, he would pause for a breath or two as if he was collecting his thoughts. Then he would answer in a compassionate and frequently humorous way.
He wasn't afraid to tease himself or the human condition. Often he would expand upon his own meditation experience with stories from others that he had gathered in his travels. With each parable, he would emphasize the importance of the human spirit and the Spirit of God working intertwined in a dance of existence, seemingly to bring meaning to the individual's life and purpose to individual's actions. For many, he was an inspiration.
